MY LATEST RESEARCH
Cyber-Islamic Activism: the Internet and the Salafi Movement in Indonesia
(2015)
This research examines the significance of the internet for Islamic movements with special reference to different Salafi groups in Indonesia. Using resource mobilization theory, it argues that the internet significance is varied for Islamic movements due to the variation of their offline resources.

Sayyid Uthman, Dress, and Indonesia under Dutch Colonial Government
(2015)
Based on my investigation in the Leiden University Library, Sayyid Uthaman’s views on the issue of changing dress style can be traced in at least four of his writings. For the purpose of this article, these can be classified into two categories: one that holds Sayyid Uthman’s works that were written before his appointment as the Advisor of Arab Affairs in 1891 and the other that includes writings written after his appointment. The importance of this classification lies in its position as one of the most important moments in Sayyis Uthman life and career so that it will tell us the interplay between his religious views and his socio-political circumstances in his days as well as his personal career.
